Last month for the final project in my water colors course, I was asked to create a realistically rendered self portrait made for the TIME magazine cover. This self portraits purpose was to inform the viewer of an personal alter ego. Growing up hiking, fishing, climbing, and interacting with wildlife, I decided to illustrate my alter ego as a native American inspired warrior. I think it’s important to remember as humans we came from the earth, and we will one day return to it. This alter ego fights for the protection of his people, land, and the sacred animals he shares it with.
