Drowsy Chaperone Poster

For my water color course, I was asked to compose a musical poster for theater/ broadway. I chose to illustrate the musical called The Drowsy Chaperone, a comedy. The play is narrated by the main character called The Man in The Chair, from his apartment living room. His favorite record is called the drowsy chaperone, and it’s a musical- comedy set in the roaring 1920’s. I water colored the painting and used ink for the line work. I hand lettered the type as well. Definitely want to keep working on this piece to clear up the symbolism and color confusion in some areas.
